AMMAN — Health Minister Dr. Ibrahim Badour adopted the National Cancer Treatment Protocol, establishing a unified framework across participating health sectors to standardize clinical practices and elevate care quality.
Dr. Hisham Bawaaneh, Director of Internal Medicine at Al Bashir Hospital, stated that this protocol bridges institutional gaps, ensures treatment equity, and significantly shortens the time required to begin therapy for 26 cancer types. The guidelines cover the entire patient journey from symptom assessment and diagnostics to targeted care pathways.
Additionally, the newly launched preventive health insurance program (introduced in 2026 with KHCF) has already benefited 942 cancer patients up to May, successfully covering vulnerable age groups under 19 and over 60.
